PHILADELPHIA -- For the first time this preseason, the Philadelphia Eagles will have their preferred trio of wide receivers on the field at the same time along with last seasons league rushing leader, LeSean McCoy. Riley Cooper (ankle), Jeremy Maclin (hamstring) and rookie Jordan Matthews should all line up when head coach Chip Kelly goes to a three wide receiver set when the Eagles host the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third preseason game Thursday night. Cooper, last years surprise in Kellys system when he caught 47 passes for 835 yards and eight touchdowns, did not play in the first two preseason games because of the ankle injury suffered during the first week of training camp. Maclin, who missed all of 2013 with a torn ACL, has been bothered by a hamstring injury and sat out last Fridays game in New England. McCoy, who became the first Eagle since Steve van Buren in 1949 to lead the league in rushing, with 1,607 yards last year, missed a few days of practice with what was termed "turf toe". According to Kelly, all three should be on the field Thursday night. "(McCoy), I dont think hell ever play again," Kelly joked when asked about the status of his running back. "No, hes fine. He was out here. Its not that serous, not that big of a deal." McCoy has carried seven times in the first two games for just 19 yards. He should see about one half of action against the Steelers. "We havent gone over all of that yet," Kelly said of how long the starters will play. "We have two more days to figure that out." While Cooper and Maclin are back to boost quarterback Nick Foles and the Eagles passing game, two other backup wide receivers will miss Thursdays game. Veteran Brad Smith, who was getting plenty of time with the two starters out, is nursing a groin injury and rookie Josh Huff could be out a few more weeks with a sprained shoulder. "Brad has a groin, I dont know if hes going to go," Kelly said. "But its not an extended thing. If he doesnt play Thursday, I expect him to be back at practice, Saturday." There was some good news for Huff, another draft pick who has provided moments of excitement in the early going of camp. "Nothing is broken, he just has to rehab the shoulder," Kelly said. "No surgery, its just a rehab situation." Having the trio of Cooper, Maclin and Matthews, the highly-touted second-round pick from Vanderbilt, together will give Kelly a chance to see what he has going into the season. And give Foles the receivers he expects to have during the regular season. "Its tough for Nick," Cooper said. "Every time he looks up theres a different guy out there, because someone is down. We all have to be out there. It helps the team and it helps Nick. "Its a big deal, yeah. In the NFL you need to have timing, you need to have accuracy. When this guy is out and then this guy is out, its tough to build on that." Thats especially true for Maclin, who hadnt lined up with Foles, since the quarterbacks rookie year and that was in Andy Reids West Coast offence. "It feels good to have us all on the field playing and playing together," Maclin said. "We all have our own relationship with Nick, and its building by being out there together." Skipper David Gray scored a stoppage-time goal to give Hibs a 3-2 victory and secure the clubs first Scottish Cup success since 1902.Following the full-time whistle, Hibs supporters ran onto the Hampden pitch, followed by some Rangers fans, and outbreaks of violence, which included attacks on several Rangers players, were caught by television cameras. The Scottish FA is conducting an inquiry into the invasion, and could take action against fans who set off pyrotechnics during the match. Robertson told Sky Sports News HQ: We dont condone violence and we will wait to see what comes out of the investigations. We will deal with any Rangers fans in the appropriate manner. But we have to remember is it was the Hibs fans who came over the wall. It was the Hibs fans who ran over the half-way line towards the Rangers fans. They provoked, they goaded, they taunted. In no shape or form do we condone any fan who came onto the pitch, but I dont think we can get away from the fact that it was Hibs fans who came onto the park and provoked them. The scenes we saw afterwards were horrendous, disgraceful. For the Hibs fans to come over the wall the way they did and for the attacks on our players and staff to happen the way it did, that is something no one should experience when they are at their work.dddddddddddd Anthony Stokes runs to celebrate with match-winner David Gray So that has still left a bad taste in the mouth. Is there a concern this could happen again in future? I hope not, I really hope not.Weve asked the SFA to set up an investigation and they have done very quickly. Police Scotland have set up their inquiries very quickly so we just have to wait and see what comes out of those investigations.Hopefully they will get to their conclusions within a short space of time. These inquiries need to look at ways of making sure they dont happen again. One of the main things that needs to come out of this is looking forward, how do we prevent it happening again.Meanwhile, Robertson has revealed Hibernian have been in touch by email with the Ibrox club to express remorse for the role their supporters played in the aftermath of Saturdays final.
